BTN's Woodie King Jr. will be inducted into the 2011 Theater Hall of Fame, Playbill.announced on Sept. 26. Woodie will join actors Ben Vereen,and Tyne Daly; costume designer Ann Roth; director Daniel Sullivan; producers George White and Elliot Martin; and, posthumously, director Paul Sills.

Spike Lee to host Obama fundraiser in New York (AP)
WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama will be getting some high-profile fundraising help next week from director Spike Lee and musicians Al Green and India.Arie.
Obama is expected to travel to New York on Thursday for a high-dollar fundraiser at Lee's home and a campaign event at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, with performances by Green, India.Arie and composer Lin-Manuel Miranda.
About 40 people are expected at the Lee fundraiser, with tickets costing $35,800 per person, while tickets to the Apollo event will start at $100 per person, according to a Democratic official who spoke on condition of anonymity because the events had not been announced.
Obama raised more than $220 million for his re-election campaign and the Democratic National Committee in 2011 and has held fundraisers in Chicago and Washington this month in preparation for the upcoming campaign.

In what would easily be the coolest movie news of 2012, Kanye West dropped word in the midst of a scorching series of Twitter updates that he was in discussions to join up with a long-gestating adaptation of "The Jetsons."
"I was just discussing becoming the creative director for the Jetson movie," he wrote.

Etta James Hospitalized After Experiencing Difficulty Breathing (omg!)
Etta James was hospitalized Wednesday after experiencing difficulty breathing, her manager tells
The Los Angeles Times.
The "At Last" singer, 73, was taken to a Southern California hospital on Wednesday and is now on a breathing apparatus. Lupe de Leon, James' manager for 30 years, reportedly said the singer is "in pretty bad shape."
Etta James terminally ill with chronic leukemia
It is unknown when or if James will be able to be released from the hospital. It was recently revealed that James is suffering from terminal leukemia. She is also suffering from dementia and had been receiving at-home care.
She previously battled sepsis this past May and in January of 2010.
